Easter Cupcake Crowns

Elevate my Easter cupcakes with the addition of a chocolate nest. Great to make with young children in preparation for Easter.

Equipment

  • 1 cupcake tin
  • 12 cupcake cases
  • 1 Large metal spoon

Materials

  • 200 g milk/dark or white chocolate
  • 150 g mini-shredded wheats/cornflakes/rice krispies
  • 1 tbsp syrup optional
  • chocolate mini eggs to put in the crown.

Instructions

  • Follow my recipe for Easter cupcakes then simply make the nests/crowns as below -
  • Break the chocolate into small pieces and place in a heat proof bowl.
  • Sit the bowl on top of a pan a gently simmering water making sure that the bowl does not touch the water.
  • Stir frequently until the chocolate has melted.
  • In a large bowl place the cereal and add the melted chocolate.
  • Stir until the cereal is completely coated in chocolate.
  • Put the cereal mix into cupcake cases and make a small indentation for the egg.
  • Add the eggs and put the tray in the fridge to chill for around an hour.
  • Now place on top of your Easter cupcake to make a show stopping Easter crown cupcake.
